On 31 August, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approved OFCCP's Affirmative Action Program Verification Initiative (AAVI), which Washington DC Labor and Employment partner, Craig Leen, started when he was Director at the U.S. Department of Labor. Although we are anticipating more information soon, this new verification will likely require federal contractors (25,000 of them) and subcontractors to verify annually through a sworn certification that they and their affiliates are fully compliant for each establishment with affirmative action program (AAP) requirements.
Within this latest announcement, OMB also approved for release two AAVI-related manuals, the Admin Guide and Federal Contractor User Guide.
During this program Craig provides a comprehensive refresher on AAVI, provides a substantive review of key sections of the OMB-approved manuals, and highlights how outside counsel can help companies comply.
